Description: Kate and Pete have been the perfect couple ever since they were teenagers. Fifteen years later, they have two young daughters, live in a beautiful London townhouse, and seem like they have it all. But one day, Pete leaves for work and never comes home.

In a note Kate discovers, he confesses that he’s been unhappy for a long time and that he’s met someone else. Distraught, she later learns that he has left everything behind, including his mobile phone, and she sets out to learn the truth about his disappearance.

But is she prepared for what she will learn?

My Thoughts: I really wanted to like this book as I love a good Mystery & Thriller. However, this was totally not what I expected it would be from the description of the book. The book moves very slowly. There is not a lot of action or really any mystery to it. The husband does not disappear until 65% of the book in.

I was really disappointed by this book and found it difficult to even get through. I did complete it all the way, which actually surprised me. I found that my mind was often times wondering off while discussing the affair that he has been having. This seemed like your typical cheating story.

I did not like the narration completed by Penelope Rawlins, specifically when she would do the male voices. It just did not do it for me and was not believable. I actually wish it had just been read complete by Rupert Degas as I liked his parts.

Rating: I'm giving this book 3 stars because it had a lot of issues but I was still able to complete it without speeding up the listening rate. I really wanted to like this book as I love a good Mystery & Thriller.
